The genre that we have chosen is horror. We chose horror because we thought that it would be the most effective genre to impact the audience by making them fear of what's to come next. Furthermore, the horror music conventions are also very creative and suspenseful therefore we can incorporate the eerie, creepy and dark music into our film to make the audience fearful. Another reason is that the lighting in horror films can make a huge impact in the way the viewer perceives the film. Additionally, the lighting along with the sounds put together creatively can really captivate the audience and make them feel as they are actually in the movie.
For example, as you can see from the picture below, the house has one window with a yellow toned light shinning through and the background of the forest have a blue tone from the moonlight, where is looks like it is shinning upon the stranded house. Therefore, the contrast between the blue and the yellow creates an odd, creepy and mysterious atmosphere.
We intend to create this atmosphere in our movie and hope in being successful in captivating and gripping the audience.
