Blog post 8: analysis of film

Analysis of film opening

One of my favourite films is The Hangover.

The start of the opening sequence starts off with a flashback to the climax of the film, this way it gets us excited to see what happens when it gets to that point, we also gather its a comedy. However the title sequence to this film is quite different to others.

After that music starts and the first title we see is the name of the film its simple and plain but reflects the genre of the film.

Straight after this we are shown the names of the important people, the most important people have a large font and are shown alone on a page however less important people are part of a list with others on a page.

We are then told who casted the film, who designed the costumes, who was in charge of music, who co-produced, who edited, who designed the production, the director of photography, the executive producers, the main producers, the writers and director last.

As this happened music plays as we are shown pictures that relate to the film.
