The Film: The Shining
Camera
The opening shot of the film is an establishing shot, of the lake in-between the mountains. Then there is movement of the camera along the lake which then fades into a high angle over the forest where the yellow car is driving on the road in-between the forest trees. The camera then does a tracking shot of the car driving, all the way through the rest of the sequence, however at different angles. The first angle is a high angle, of a birds eye view of the car. The second angle is a side angle, which views the side of the car, still a tracking shot. The third angle is another side angle but from a higher point of view which then zooms towards the car and eventually passing it, which then the camera does another establishing shot as the location has changed. The fourth angle reappears as a high angle of a birds eye view shot, still tracking the car from behind. The fifth angle is a side shot of the car on the edge of the mountain side, from a mid angle. The sixth angle is a high angle tracking the car from behind. Lastly, the camera does a panning movement from left to right, whilst slowly zooming in, to give an overview of the cars destination.
Editing
Most of the edits are cuts however there is one cross-fade cut which is when the camera transitions from the lake in-between the mountains to the car for the very first time.

The first piece of music is very deep, drone type music to create suspense and tension. The Second piece of music is very eerie and higher pitched to emphasis of the suspense and put you on the edge of your seat, like the car was on the edge of the mountain side. When the yellow car pasted the police car, on the side of the road, siren sound effects integrated with the eerie music.
