According to Kyle Cooper, a good title sequence has title fonts that relate to the films’ background or story. For example the goth handwriting font, the main character  in the film Seven is a serial killer that records/explains the killings in his diary. In this case, the handwritten font reflects to the film. He also thinks its good when it sets an expectation of whats going to happen.


What important about the font used in Seven? 

  • “Make the type do what it says”
  • The dark and bold handwritten font reflects on the story
Reasons for liking To Kill a Mockingbird and Deadzone?

What does he mean by “story based”?
  • ‘Story’ specific background story
  • A metaphor

A studio might face many problems after an audience test screening, some may involve not having enough of a budget to do a different scene  (some use it to become another scene in the movie) or realising that the test audience doesn’t understand an aspect of it.
 

The length of time of the title sequence is better when its no more or less than 2 and a half minutes. This is important because it could help by putting some information which gets left out in it. it could also be used as another scene.

The title sequences of Dawn of the Dead tried to set up a storyline and end up with something that can be carried on advances. 

Cooper thinks titles are essential to a film because they contribute towards prologue. Also he converge with graphic designers can tell a story
